Salmon Steaks

Saturday’s salmon steaks.

Salmon is a great source of protein, healthy fats, and various essential vitamins and minerals. It is particularly high in selenium, an important nutrient that is involved in DNA synthesis, thyroid hormone metabolism, and reproductive health. It’s also a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, a type of heart-healthy fat that can decrease inflammation and support brain health. What’s more, salmon is rich in vitamin B12, which is necessary for producing red blood cells and regulating the health of the central nervous system.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb of broccoli
  • 6 pcs medium potatoes
  • 4 pcs salmon steaks
  • 1 pc lemon
  • 1 tbsp of olive oil
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 1 tsp mixed peppercorns

Instructions

  • Rinse fish in cold water fish and dry well with a paper towel.
  • Boil potatoes for 15 to 20 minutes. In a separate pot, boil broccoli for 10 minutes.
  • Before frying, brush a thin layer of olive oil on the steak and fry on medium heat. Fry the steaks for 3 to 3.5 minutes on each side.
  • Drain the water from the potatoes and broccoli. Add a little olive oil.

Notes

  • If you will cook frozen steaks, they should be defrosted on the top shelf of the refrigerator for 3-4 hours beforehand. In this case, the fish will not fall apart when frying.
  • Always use medium or coarse ground sea salt for cooking fish, otherwise using fine salt can cause the fish to turn out over-salted.
  • Pre-marinated fish give a lot of juice. It is enough to brush a thin layer of olive oil or other vegetable oil on the steak before frying and frying on high heat. You will get a wonderful crispy crust, which will not allow the juice to escape, and the fish will turn out juicy and tender inside.
  • Sprinkle the lemon juice on the already-cooked fried fish, not on the raw steaks.
