Creamy Shrimp Pasta
Ingredients
- 1 lb large raw shrimp peeled and deveined
- ¾ lb fettuccini pasta
- ½ cup white wine Cardonnay recomended
- 1 cup heavy wipping cream
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ pc onion finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic minced
- salt and black pepper to taste
- fresh parsley or basyl for garnish
- Parmesan cheese for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the fettuccini pasta according to package instructions until tender yet firm to the bite.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent.
- Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Increase the heat to medium-high, add the shrimp, and cook until they turn opaque about 3 minutes.
- Pour in the white wine, let it reduce slightly, then lower the heat and add the heavy whipping cream. Let it simmer until the sauce starts to thicken, 3 to 5 minutes.
- Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste
- Drain the pasta and add it to the skillet with the creamy shrimp sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly
- Serve the creamy shrimp pasta garnished with fresh parsley or basil and a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese.
