Orange Pie
In this recipe, we’ll show you how to create a delectable orange pie with just a few eggs, reducing the calorie count while keeping the taste quotient off the charts.
Ingredients
- 4 pcs large eggs
- 1 pc orange for zest
- ⅓ cup orange juice
- 5 oz sugar
- 2 oz butter
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour with baking powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350ºF(180°C).
- Line a baking tray with butter and baking paper, then grease the top again to prevent sticking.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sugar, butter, and flour with baking powder, orange zest, and orange juice. Mix well until all the ingredients are incorporated.
- Add the eggs to the mixture and stir well. Let the batter stand for 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- After 15 minutes, stir the batter again and pour it into the prepared baking tray.
- Bake the pie in the middle of the oven for about 30 minutes. It should be cooked but still moist when done.
- Carefully remove the pie from the tray by unmolding it onto a damp cloth sprinkled with sugar. Then, use the same cloth to gently roll up the pie.
- Decorate the orange pie according to your liking and serve.
Notes
- You can add a filling of your choice to the orange pie, such as fruit jams, Nutella, dried fruit, pastry cream, or any other filling you prefer. However, it’s equally delicious without any filling.
- Since this tart is quite moist due to the significant amount of orange juice, it’s best not to decorate it with creams like liquid chocolate. Instead, a simple dusting of icing sugar works well as a topping.
- If you prefer a less moist pie, you can reduce the amount of orange juice in the recipe to your liking.
