Lobster Mac & Cheese
Ingredients
- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 cups sharp Cheddar cheese shredded
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese shredded
- 1 cup Gruyere cheese shredded
- 1 Β½ cups cooked lobster meat chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ΒΌ cup unsaltet buttet
- ΒΌ cup all-purpose flour
- ΒΌ cup fresh chives chopped
- Β½ cup breadcrumbs optional for topping
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour to create a roux. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Gradually whisk in the milk and heavy cream, ensuring there are no lumps. Cook until the mixture thickens.
- Add the Dijon mustard, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Stir in the cheddar, Gruyere, and Parmesan cheeses until smooth.
- Fold in the cooked macaroni and lobster meat, making sure everything is well coated in the cheese sauce.
