Oat Cake with Apple recipe
We girls often want something delicious. But the fear of gaining extra pounds makes us refuse sweets. In order not to torture myself, I found a great recipe for baking, which is not harmful to the figure. Oat cake with apple has become a real salvation for me. Low-calorie and delicious dessert surpassed all my expectations.
In the original recipe, sugar is used for sweetness. But you can easily replace some of it with honey or any other healthy sweetener. Do not worry that there are more apples than the dough itself. Thanks to this, the oatmeal pie turns out very juicy and tender. Be sure to splash the apples with citrus juice, so they will not darken.

Oat Cake with Apple
Ingredients
- 3 pcs eggs
- 6 tbsp butter
- 8 tbsp sugar or a combination of sugar and honey for a healthier option
- 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups rolled oats about 5 ounces
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 4 pcs apples
- 1 pc lemon
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions
- Mix softened butter with sugar (or a sweetener of your choice) and a pinch of salt. Beat with a mixer for about 5 minutes until the mixture becomes smooth and light in color.
- Add the eggs one at a time, continuing to beat until the mixture remains smooth and light.
- Sift in the all-purpose flour, then add the rolled oats, baking powder, and ground cinnamon. Mix these dry ingredients into the mixture in several stages using a silicone spatula until you achieve a soft dough.
- Peel and cut the apples into small cubes. Lightly sprinkle them with lemon juice to prevent browning. Grate the zest from the lemon and add it to the dough. Then, add the cubed apples to the batter and mix everything.
- Grease a 10-inch diameter mold with butter, spread the dough evenly in it, and flatten it.
- Bake the pie in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C)for about 45 minutes. You can check if it’s done by inserting a toothpick into the center; if it comes out clean, the pie is ready.
- Allow the oat cake with apples to cool before serving.
