These Semolina Pancakes are a perfect embodiment of simplicity and indulgence.
Ingredients
- 1 pcs egg
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup semolina
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions
- In a saucepan, bring the milk to a boil.
- While continuously stirring the milk with a whisk, slowly pour in the semolina. Cook the porridge for about 3 minutes until it becomes thick.
- Transfer the semolina porridge to a bowl and allow it to cool until it’s warm.
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg and mix in the sugar, vanilla sugar, and a pinch of salt until you have a homogeneous mixture.
- Combine the egg mixture with the warm semolina porridge and mix well.
- Wet your hands with water, and use them to form thick round cakes from the mixture. Roll these cakes in flour.
- Heat a frying pan with vegetable oil and place the semolina cakes in it.
- Fry the semolina bits on low heat for about 3 minutes on each side or until they turn golden brown.
- Place the fried bits on a paper towel to allow excess oil to drip off.
- You can serve the semolina bits hot, warm, or cooled, and you can accompany them with honey, jam, or condensed milk.
