Leite Creme
Ingredients
- 4 cups milk
- ⅔ cup of sugar extra for burning
- 7 pcs egg yolks
- 2 tbsp flour
- lemon peel to taste
Instructions
- Place the egg yolks in a bowl. Mix with a whisk and slowly add the flour.
- Then add the sugar and mix again, and finally the cold milk.
- Take the mixture to the stove in a saucepan and add the lemon peel and a cinnamon stick previously washed.
- Let it thicken over low heat.
- When it thickens, turn off the heat and set aside.
- Pour the mixture into a large bowl or distribute it into individual bowls. Sprinkle with sugar and burn only when serving, using an iron or kitchen torch.

- Leite Creme can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Make sure to cover it with plastic wrap or store it in an airtight container to prevent it from absorbing any odors from the refrigerator.
- It’s best to burn the sugar on top just before serving, as the crispy crust will soften over time in the refrigerator.
