  • 4 cups milk
  • cup of sugar extra for burning
  • 7 pcs egg yolks
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • lemon peel to taste

Instructions

  • Place the egg yolks in a bowl. Mix with a whisk and slowly add the flour.
  • Then add the sugar and mix again, and finally the cold milk.
  • Take the mixture to the stove in a saucepan and add the lemon peel and a cinnamon stick previously washed.
  • Let it thicken over low heat.
  • When it thickens, turn off the heat and set aside.
  • Pour the mixture into a large bowl or distribute it into individual bowls. Sprinkle with sugar and burn only when serving, using an iron or kitchen torch.

Notes

  • Leite Creme can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Make sure to cover it with plastic wrap or store it in an airtight container to prevent it from absorbing any odors from the refrigerator.
  • It’s best to burn the sugar on top just before serving, as the crispy crust will soften over time in the refrigerator.
